THE SOUL OF RIGA
THE SOUL OF RIGA
The Golden Façade
History and Facts
This sunlit Art Nouveau apartment house at Antonijas iela 8 was designed by Latvian architect Konstantīns Pēkšēns and completed in 1903. The façade balances elegant symmetry with refined ornamentation — a calmer, more architectural Jugendstil compared to the exuberant Eisenstein street masterpieces.

Interesting Fact
The building’s most striking detail is the entrance framed by winged dragons beneath the bay window — a protective Art Nouveau motif that gives the house its quiet sense of myth and strength.

Author’s Note
The warm hues turn architecture into poetry — Riga’s elegance captured in form and light.
