THE SOUL OF RIGA
The Evening Light of St. Peter’s
History and Facts: Viewed across the Daugava River, the spire of St. Peter’s Church glows in the fading light — one of Riga’s most recognizable silhouettes.
Built in the 13th century, the church has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, mirroring the city’s own resilience through centuries of fire and renewal.

Interesting Fact: During Soviet times, the tower was reconstructed with the help of donations from all over Latvia.
Today, it stands as a symbol of unity and hope, visible from almost every corner of the Old Town.

Author’s Note: As the sun sets, Riga does not grow darker — it turns golden.
