THE SOUL OF RIGA
Bridge Arches and Church Spire — View of Riga
History and Facts
The Riga Railway Bridge was inaugurated in 1914, heavily damaged during wartime, and later rebuilt. The present structure was completed in 1955 and remains the city’s main rail crossing over the Daugava. Behind it rises St. Peter’s Church tower, one of Old Riga’s tallest and most recognizable landmarks.

Interesting Fact
The current spire of St. Peter’s reaches about 123 meters. The viewing platform at 72 meters offers one of the most expansive panoramas of Riga.

Author’s Note
I chose this frame where the trees form a natural window onto the city. The rhythm of the bridge arches and the church spire balance engineering with spirituality.
