THE SOUL OF RIGA
Market Arches — Riga Central Market
History and Facts
Riga Central Market opened in 1930. Its five halls were built using metal frameworks from former World War I German Zeppelin hangars, making it one of the largest and most distinctive market complexes in Europe.

Interesting Fact
In 1997, the market territory was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Historic Centre of Riga, recognized as a unique example of industrial architecture.
