THE SOUL OF RIGA
THE SOUL OF RIGA
Riga TV Tower
History and Facts
The Riga TV Tower is the tallest structure in the Baltic States and the highest television tower in the European Union. Its highest point reaches about 368 meters. Built between 1979 and 1989 on Zaķusala Island, the tower was engineered to withstand winds up to 44 m/s and even strong seismic vibrations.

Interesting Fact
The public observation deck at 97 meters offers sweeping views of Riga and the Daugava River. Nearby, the tower once housed the rotating restaurant “Vēja Roze” (“Wind Rose”), turning a meal into a slow panoramic journey.

Author’s Note
In soft morning light, the tower appears both monumental and ethereal. Through my lens, I wanted to show how this technological symbol quietly dominates Riga’s horizon.
