The plastic sculpture Swimmer at Dusk floats on the Daugava near Ganību dambis, between Pārdaugava and Old Riga. It reflects Riga’s bond with the river and the human strength to keep moving even as the day fades. At sunset, the swimmer becomes part of the city’s quiet dialogue between light and water.

Interesting Fact
Created as part of a contemporary urban-art project, the figure captures a rare stillness between motion and reflection. As the sun drops, the swimmer remains — half in light, half in shadow.

When the city grows silent, one figure still faces the last light across the Daugava.
